Magickal Seasoning Blend

I created this blend several years ago, and use it in nearly every savory recipe that I make. I always triple the recipe because it is so good! It takes just a few minutes to mix together, and then you only have to add the one blend when cooking instead of weighing or measuring eight separate ingredients.

I use this blend every day, so I buy big containers of most of the ingredients from Sam’s Club. I called Tone’s and McCormick to confirm that all of the spices below are gluten and top 8 allergen free. They both said any gluten or allergens would be clearly stated in bold on the label, so all of these look good:

It is really easy to make this blend when you weigh the ingredients! I included a separate recipe below for those without a scale, but I hope I can convince you to get one! See Why You Should Use a Kitchen Scale.

After all of the ingredients are in the bowl, whisk well to combine thoroughly. (Please note that the amount shown in the bowl is for one weighed recipe, or 50 tsp. The amount shown in the full container is a triple batch).

Store in an airtight container, and shake it up before each use.

That’s it!  Your Magickal Seasoning Blend is ready to use! I will be sharing tons of recipes that use this as an ingredient, but until then, you can sprinkle it on anything savory instead of salt. I love adding it to some mashed avocado for the best avocado toast ever!

Ingredients

  • 58 g Salt
  • 56 g Onion Powder
  • 40 g Granulated Garlic
  • 24 g Vegan Sugar
  • 10 g Celery Salt
  • 6 g Paprika
  • 4 g Black Pepper
  • 2 g Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk all the ingredients together until they are uniformly blended. Store in an airtight container.

  • 1 TBS Sugar
  • 3 TBS + 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 TBS Granulated Garlic
  • 1 1/4 tsp Celery Salt

  • 7/8 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
