Vegan Reddi-wip Review!

My mom and I finally found the new almond and coconut Reddi-wip vegan whipped toppings! We were so excited that we went a little overboard in testing them out! Here is what the cans look like:

I forgot to get a photo of the nutrition labels, but you can see them on Reddi-wip’s website. This is what a squirt of the almond Reddi-wip looks like:

Here is the coconut:

My mom and I tried the Reddi-wip on hot cocoa,

On a sundae with Aldi’s mocha fudge vegan ice cream and my homemade chocolate syrup,

In strawberry shortcake,

On vegan eggnog,

And on apple cranberry cobbler!

We really like these two new products, and we are thrilled that Reddi-wip is making vegan options! We’d love to see them stop using dairy altogether, but this is a great start! My only complaint is the price ($3.99) for only six ounces of product. Redid-wip claims this is 34 servings, but it is really only six to ten the way I use it!

I make a delicious homemade whipped topping that is much less expensive:

However, making my own is not as convenient as having a can of Reddi-wip in the fridge. I would definitely make my own when I am serving a number of people because of the cost savings. I would also use my whipped topping for any recipe like trifle or a cream pie because it is much more stable and doesn’t deflate over time like the Reddi-wip does. The Reddi-wip is perfect, however, when you just want to top a mug of cocoa, an ice cream sundae, or a slice of pie.

Note: I posted about these on Instagram, and a few people said they had problems with the cans not working. So, be sure to rinse the nozzle with hot water after each use as the directions say to do. We did that and didn’t have any problems with either can. Also, be sure to shake the can really well and then hold the can so that the nozzle is pointed straight down when you are using it.

Both vegan Reddi-wip flavors are fluffy, light, and creamy! My mom and I prefer the coconut version, but my friend Gretchen (from Gretchen’s Vegan Bakery) favors the almond. My advice is to get both and see which one you like best!

  1. Thanks for the product test. I have seen it in the store, but never have a use for it when I notice it on the shelf, then when I’m having guests for dinner that includes a dessert I can’t find it. I think I will get a can before the holidays start. Love you guys!

I love hearing from you! Please leave a comment!
